About this work
Medusa, an artwork inspired by Greek mythology, portrays the only mortal among the three Gorgons - the famously monstrous sisters. Perseus, her slayer, was able to kill her by cutting off her head. Medusa was said to be beautiful before she was made so hideous that anyone who dared to gaze into her eyes would turn to stone.
“You only have to look at the Medusa straight on to see her. And she’s not deadly. She’s beautiful and she’s laughing.”
