About this work

The film Joker tackles dark and difficult topics such as mental illness, income inequality, poverty, and class differences - all of which creates cognitive dissonance by challenging a person’s delusions of American Exceptionalism– the self-congratulatory idea that America is historically unique and worthy of universal admiration.

The Joker is usually portrayed as a male figure. To show that these issues affect every gender, I deliberately chose a female model.
